More Fun in January

It’s called Dry January, but we think of it more as “Abundant January”. A month w/o booze just holds so much opportunity.  Really!

Here is the way we look at the month: We are going to save some serious cash - the booze bills add up. We’re going to get a few dozen or more extra hours of sleep. We’re going to wake up feeling like a rockstar and enjoy extra energy late into the evening. What to do with this abundance of riches?

You probably already have a list of things you’ve wanted to do but didn’t have time for (check the New Year's resolution list?!) But in case you need a little inspiration, here’s the list of things we’re considering for this month:

Take a new class: Want to explore a new hobby or just get your creative juices flowing? Sign yourself up for a class. Check out Skillshare or Master Class for a little inspiration. Things we’re considering: learning more guitar (we’re both lapsed beginners), perfecting our chess game, learning to write a screenplay.

Join (or start) a book club: Connect with others over new books, authors, and maybe even a bottle of Kally or Lili. Check here for book ideas from Oprah's Book Club, the NYT Bestsellers List or 2022 Pulitzer Prize Winners.

Take up journaling: Use the gratitude journal included in the Kit - or any blank piece of paper - and start jotting down thoughts. Document how you're feeling and what you're noticing in world around you. Commit to journaling for the month and see where it takes you.

Puzzles are "in" and having a moment: Use your Dry January clarity of mind to come up with the winning solution - and spend QT with people you love. Piecework Puzzles, Areaware, and Printworks make some of our favorites. 

Have a movie marathon: Binge a new director, watch every Best Picture nominee from the year you were born, or just revisit a favorite. Don't forget the popcorn. 

Volunteer: Just because volunteer hours might not happen during happy hour doesn't mean it doesn't count here. Find a local organization you're passionate about and reach out to see how you can help. 

Start meditating: With a apps and guides to help you get started, there's no time like the present to add a bit of mindfulness to your nightly routine. 

It's going to be a month of new, fresh and interesting things! Have fun and make the most of it.
