Recipe: Mulled Verjus Punch

Recipe: Mulled Verjus Punch

We love a warm cocktail during the winter months, especially when we’re hosting friends and family. This Mulled Verjus Punch has all the rich flavors and aromas of a mulled wine, without the alcohol. The tartness of the verjus is balanced by the sweetness of the apple and cranberry juices and warm baking spices. Get your mugs ready (or serve in a hearty cocktail glass for a little holiday flair!)

Serves 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 240 ml (8 oz) Kally Verjus
  • 480 ml (16 oz) apple cider
  • 200 ml (6.7 oz) cranberry juice (unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
  • 40 ml (1.3 oz) fresh lemon juice
  • 40 ml (1.3 oz) honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • A cinnamon stick
  • 4-6 whole cloves
  • A few slices of fresh ginger
  • A few orange slices
  • A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and fresh cranberries for garnish

Directions:

In a large pot, combine the verjus, apple cider, cranberry juice, lemon juice, honey/simple syrup, cinnamon stick, cloves, ginger, orange slices, and a pinch of nutmeg if using. Warm the mixture over low to medium heat. Allow it to simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes. Avoid boiling to keep the delicate flavors intact. Ladle the warm punch into mugs or heat-resistant glasses. Garnish each serving with a cinnamon stick, an orange slice, and a few fresh cranberries.
